Welcome to the Augusta Arts Council's website for the Augusta Historic Theatre! In 1935, Dave and Aline Bisagno opened the Augusta Theatre at 523 State Street in Historic Downtown Augusta, Kansas. It instantly became the architectural centerpiece of the community. It was the first theatre to be lit entirely by neon. Still in operation today, it has been placed on the National Register of Historical Places.
