The Augusta Arts Council is a non-profit organization supported by membership dues, gifts from individuals, businesses, corporations, and grants. The Augusta Arts Council operates the Augusta Historic Theatre and the Art Centre.
It shall be the purpose of the Augusta Arts Council to act as a coordinating, educational, and service organization to foster, promote, encourage, and increase the knowledge, appreciation, and practice of the Arts in Augusta, Kansas and the surrounding areas. It is also the mission of the Augusta Arts Council to preserve the Augusta Historic Theatre and to maintain and enhance its entertainment, historical and architectural value to the community.
The Augusta Arts Council Board of Directors helps ensure the strategic planning and goals for the Augusta Theatre, as well as the Augusta Arts Council, are identified and carried out. These volunteers meet regularly to discuss ways to make the organization better.
